Why use the Image Color Picker?

Matching an existing brand color by eye rarely works — two greens that look identical on screen can have quite different codes. Picking straight from a logo file, product photo or a client’s screenshot gives you the exact value to use in Canva, Figma, CSS or your WordPress theme settings. The automatic palette is a quick starting point for mood boards and social templates that feel consistent with a photo. The image is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.

Match brand colors from an old logo, pull a color scheme from a photo, or find the exact shade used in a screenshot for your design, website or presentation.

Tips for best results with the Image Color Picker

  • Zoom in on flat areas of a logo — edges blend colors and give in-between values.
  • Pick from the original artwork, not a compressed screenshot, for the most accurate color.
  • Use the dominant palette to quickly build a color scheme from a photo.
  • Check printed colors separately; screen colors and CMYK print colors never match exactly.

Image Color Picker FAQs

Why is the picked color slightly different from my brand guide?

JPG compression, shadows and color profiles can shift pixels a little. For logos, use a PNG or SVG export and pick from a flat area away from the edges.

How is the dominant palette created?

The tool samples the image, groups similar colors together and shows the six most common groups that are clearly different from each other.

Can I pick colors from a website?

Yes — take a screenshot of the page, then upload it here.

Which color format should I copy?

HEX is the most common in web and design tools. RGB and HSL are useful in CSS; HSL makes it easy to create lighter or darker versions of a color.

Can I get CMYK values?

The picker gives HEX, RGB and HSL. Copy the HEX code into the Color Code Converter to see an approximate CMYK value for print.

Does it work on mobile phones?

Yes. Upload an image and tap anywhere on it to pick the color under your finger.
