Color Code Converter

Convert colour codes between HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK instantly as you type.

CMYK is a mathematical conversion without a color profile — ask your printer to confirm values for print.

How to use the Color Code Converter

  1. Type or paste a color into any field — HEX, RGB, HSL or CMYK — or use the color picker.
  2. The other formats update instantly.
  3. Click Copy next to the format you need.

Why use the Color Code Converter?

Designers, developers and printers all speak a slightly different color language. A brand guide might list a HEX code, your CSS may use RGB or HSL, and the print shop asks for CMYK. Converting by hand is error-prone, and one wrong digit gives you a noticeably different color. This converter keeps all four formats in sync so you can move between Figma, WordPress, Canva and print briefs quickly. CMYK values are a mathematical conversion; printers may adjust them for their paper and color profile.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my printed color look different from the screen?

Screens mix light (RGB) while printers mix inks (CMYK), and some bright screen colors cannot be reproduced in ink. Ask your printer for a proof and their preferred color profile.

Which formats can I type?

HEX with or without # (3 or 6 digits), RGB such as rgb(0, 107, 84) or 0, 107, 84, HSL such as hsl(167, 100%, 21%), and CMYK such as 100, 0, 21, 58.

Is HSL better than RGB for CSS?

Both describe the same colors. HSL is easier to adjust by hand — for example, raise the lightness value to make a color lighter.

Can it convert to Pantone?

No. Pantone colors are proprietary spot colors. Use official Pantone guides or ask your printer for the closest match.
