How to use the Keyword Density Checker
- Paste your article or page text.
- Choose whether to ignore common stop words such as "the" and "and".
- Review the top single words, two-word and three-word phrases with their counts and percentages.
- Optionally enter a target keyword to see how often it appears and where.
Why use the Keyword Density Checker?
Keyword density is not a ranking formula, and repeating a phrase more often will not make a page rank better — overdoing it reads badly and can look spammy. What this analysis is good for is a quick sense-check: does the text focus on the topic you intended, have you leaned on the same phrase too often, and are related terms present? Seeing the most frequent phrases at a glance helps writers and editors vary their wording and keep content natural. Your text is analyzed in your browser and never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the ideal keyword density?
There is no ideal percentage. Write naturally for readers, use the main topic and related terms where they fit, and avoid repeating the same phrase unnaturally.
How is the percentage calculated?
For each word or phrase: (times it appears × number of words in the phrase) ÷ total words × 100.
What are stop words?
Very common words such as "the", "is" and "of". Ignoring them makes the lists more useful; phrases that start or end with a stop word are skipped.
Does it work with Hindi or other languages?
Word counting works for any language that separates words with spaces. The stop word list is English only.
